Immunization

Immunization is the process whereby a person is made immune or resistant to an infectious disease, typically by the administration of a vaccine. Vaccines stimulate the body’s own immune system to protect the person against subsequent infection or disease.

Immunization is a proven tool for controlling and eliminating life-threatening infectious diseases and is estimated to avert between 2 and 3 million deaths each year. It is one of the most cost-effective health investments, with proven strategies that make it accessible to even the most hard-to-reach and vulnerable populations. It has clearly defined target groups; it can be delivered effectively through outreach activities; and vaccination does not require any major lifestyle change.

At SS Child Care we have all types vaccines available for your child immunisation as per the IAP (Indian Academy of Paediatrics) guidelines.

Available on all days. Any special vaccination please enquire before coming.

Spirometry

Spirometry is a basic test conducted using an instrument called spirometer to measure how much air a person's lungs can hold. It also tests the speed of inhalations (breathing in) and exhalations (breathing out).

This test is given to children older than 5 years.

The spirometer consists of a mouthpiece and a tube that connects to the machine which displays the results.

Spirometry is used to diagnose and monitor diseases that affect the lungs such as asthma and cystic fibrosis. It is also used to diagnose the causes of shortness of breath, coughing or wheezing.

Available free of cost on Wednesday and Saturdays only. Please check availability before coming.

Nebulisation

Nebulisers are the devices which is used for proper intake of Broncho-dilator medicines like corticosteroids. Generally, these medicines are in the form of liquid and the nebulizer converts that into a form of mist so that the child can breathe it in easily.

How Does a Nebulizer Work?

A nebulizer is an electric or battery-powered machine. It usually has four parts:

  • the motor
  • the mouthpiece or facemask
  • the cup
  • tubing

Medicine is put into the cup, which is attached to the motor via tubing. The mouthpiece or facemask is then attached to the cup. When the machine is turned on, it sends a mist into the mask. The child can breathe in this mist.

Kids don't have to "do" anything to receive the medicine except stay still and breathe in. It usually takes about 5 or 10 minutes to breathe in all the medicine. A child who doesn't stay still and cooperate, or who cries, may not get all the medicine needed. During treatment, it's important to help your child be as still and calm as possible.

At SS Child Care we are equipped with proper and hygienic Nebulisation facility to help your kids breathe easily

Paediatric Psychiatry Counselling

Even under the best of circumstances, it can be hard to tell the difference between challenging behaviours and emotions that are consistent with typical child development and those that are cause for concern. It is important to remember that many disorders like anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and depression, do occur during childhood In general, if a child’s behaviour persists for a few weeks or longer, causes distress for the child or the child’s family, and interferes with functioning at school, at home, or with friends, then consider seeking help. If a child’s behaviour is unsafe, or if a child talks about wanting to hurt him or herself or someone else, then seek help immediately.

At SS Child Care we have a qualified Paediatric psychiatrist who is expert in evaluation and provide suitable counselling and recommendations.
